Chances and risks of using generative AI or AI in general have become hotly debated topics in academic life. Besides the EU AI Act and the general rules of good scientific practice/data protection/copyright law, there are currently no guidelines available for the use of AI in your everyday life as a doctoral student. This means that you need your own, well-informed opinion on the subject, also to clarify with your supervisors the acceptable use of AI in your research and for writing your thesis.

We would therefore like to offer you a virtual platform to discuss your questions and opinions on the use of AI in academia with your peers as well as with us. The focus of the discussion will be on peer-to-peer exchange, and we will also reserve some space for you to present your own examples on how you do or do not use AI currently. Feel free to share your ideas, concerns, open questions, or your screen :) You are also welcome to prepare a slide, show a demo case or whatever will give your peers some insight into your current use of AI and your experiences with it.

This is a space for you, what you bring is what you get :)
