RESEARCH EXPERIENCE AND PROFESSIONAL APPOINTMENTS
Research Fellowship (2013-2017) |
STRI – TEAM Network Tropical Ecology and Assessment Monitoring, TEAM Network I was the crew leader for the terrestrial vertebrate protocol for five years now. We use camera traps to assess in two protected areas how mammals’ communities change in abundance and composition over the years. PI: Dr. Patrick Jansen |
Naturalist Guide (2012 – 2017) |
BARRO COLORADO ISLAND (BCI), PUBLIC VISITOR PROGRAM I guided people from all around the world and explain them about research on BCI (past and present), ecology of our fauna and flora and history of the Smithsonian Institution, STRI and Panama Canal. |
VOLUNTEERING ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
Student’s Representative April – Dec 2011 |
University of Panama, Faculty General Committee of Auto Evaluation I represented the students on a faculty committee along with professors and university’s authorities to discuss the needed improvements in my faculty’s careers, as well as for the university. |

Extra information
I am a field biologist interested in behavior, ecology and natural history of forest mammals. I study the dynamics of biodiversity and the effects of disconnected habitats caused by anthropogenic change. By assessing the occupancy of community of forest mammals in the Panama Canal area, I aim to identify the degree of landscape connectivity across plantation mosaics that are disconnecting forests.
