Main Focus
Parasites are known to manipulate the behaviour of their hosts. There is paucity of information on their influence on animal collectives. I will be investigating the effects of parasite loads on social structure, collective movement and decision-making in the vulturine guineafowl Acryllium vulturinum. These birds are highly cohesive and live within stable groups.
